Accelerate business forward with cloud fax

Transport and logistics companies are seeing digital adoption not only accelerate operations from the ground up but disrupt how goods are bought and sold.

Hello eFax!

Cloud fax can shift your business into overdrive

Making the switch to an online business fax service will accelerate your existing fax workflows. For example, purchase orders, delivery schedules, invoices, inventory-control and analysis documents, shipping records, etc. can all be sent from a desktop, tablet or mobile device. All without walking to (or standing around) a fax machine.

“In the era of rapid shipping, “guaranteed-by” delivery and “Just-in-Time” technology, transportation companies are under tremendous pressure to meet the always-increasing demands of their customers and the market — while remaining profitable.”

Frequently Asked Questions

eFax makes it very easy for transportation and logistics companies to switch from a fax machine to online faxing. To transition your office across, you start by signing up for an eFax plan here. eFax offers flexible pricing based on features and how many faxes you need to send and receive monthly.

Once you’ve signed up for a plan, you can log into your eFax account and start faxing straight away. You can access your faxing system via the eFax iOS app, Android app, desktop app and the eFax portal.

If you’d like to port your number to eFax, you’ll need to fill out this form. Then, eFax and your telecommunications provider will work together to transition your number across. This process usually takes four to twelve weeks (provider dependent). eFax can give you a new number to use in the meantime.

Once you’ve set up your faxing infrastructure, make sure you train your staff to use the new system and recycle your old fax machine.

eFax is designed to fit into your daily workflow seamlessly. And, as many transportation and logistics companies rely on SAP, eFax is a SAP certified partner. eFax works with SAP connector to allow you to fax documents by email from your SAP modules and systems. You don’t need to be on a desktop computer either. eFax works on mobile devices, so everyone on the road can still fax quickly and easily.

If you don’t use SAP, you can connect your ERP and CRM systems via eFax’s Application Programming Interface (API).

Similar to eFax’s SAP capabilities, eFax’s API lets you fax via your email on your ERP and CRM systems. A secure API portal protects your data at all times — so using the eFax API won’t create any cybersecurity risks. eFax protects your faxes with AES 256-bit encryption and Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.2 encryption.

Access to the eFax API is available with an eFax Corporate plan. eFax offers a RESTful API or an XML-based API.

There are a lot of moving parts in a transport and logistics company. So, as fax machines are slow, prone to problems and paper-reliant, they have limited benefits for most companies (in fact, they are more of a productivity drain than anything else).

Online faxing, on the other hand, has plenty of potential. While traditional fax machines rely on paper, a fax line, ink and a machine, you only need an internet-connected device to fax online. Online fax also automates the filing and storage of faxes — saving time and office storage space.

Online faxing can handle a wide range of documents, including invoices, delivery schedules and purchase orders. You can send these documents to multiple recipients, and people can sign them with electronic signatures. Online faxing is easy to use, and multiple users can fax simultaneously.

Ultimately, online faxing is cheaper, faster and better suited to a fast-paced environment than traditional faxing. Switching across will boost your productivity, automate administration tasks and save you money long-term.
