How To Send & Receive Faxes via PC or MAC

To send and receive faxes via PC or Mac, you will need to download the “eFax Messenger” app. Once the software is installed on your computer, you can send faxes by following these steps:

  1. Select “New Fax”

  2. Select the recipient from your contacts list, or type in their fax number.

  3. Enter a subject and a name in the “Attention” field.

  4. Attach up to 10 documents using the “Attachments” button.

  5. If you want to include a message, type it into the “Cover Page” field. This will send the message on the cover page of the fax

  6. Press “Send Fax”.

On the desktop app, you can view and sign faxes through the “View Faxes” button.

  5. If desired, write a message. This will create a fax cover

Faxes you have received can be located with the “View Faxes” button on the home screen.

How To Fax Using Email

To send a fax over email, follow these steps:

  1. Click “Compose” like you are writing an email.

  2. Type in the fax number of your recipient, including their country and area code (like “613” for Melbourne). Then, add “” to the number, giving you an address in this format: “[email protected]”.

  3. Optionally, type a message into the body of the email.

  4. Attach up to 10 documents and click “Send”. You will then receive a confirmation email once your fax has been sent.

You can also receive faxes using email. These faxes will appear in your inbox from the address “[email protected]”, with the subject line “Fax Received From (fax number)”.

How To Fax on Mobile

To fax through your smartphone or tablet, you will need to download the “eFax Mobile App” through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Once you have signed in, you can send faxes by following these steps:

  1. Select “Send Faxes” from the menu.

  2. Select your recipient from your saved contacts, or type in their fax number.

  3. Attach your fax files through the “Attachments” button.

  4. Fill in the cover page and press “Send”.

On mobile, you can view and sign received faxes through the “View Faxes” and “Sign Faxes” options.

How To Fax Internationally

The process for faxing internationally is nearly identical to the process for faxing nationally – except for one small detail.

When you send a fax, you address it to a fax number. That fax number includes the country code ( like “+61” for Australia), the area code (like “3” for Melbourne) and the recipient’s local number (like “9998 1823”).

To fax outside of Australia, you simply need to string together the country code, area code and the local number of your recipient. For example, to send a fax to a recipient in Kuala Lumpur, you would take the country code “60”, a local area code “3” and the recipient’s number (like “339 2991”). Together, that gives you: “6033392991”.

Online Fax Benefits and Features

Online faxing is a revolutionary technology that allows Australian businesses to send and receive faxes from anywhere – but that’s not the only benefit.

Online faxing is significantly cheaper than traditional faxing. While businesses must shill for paper, toner, maintenance and line fees to run a fax machine, online faxing costs no more than a subscription fee. Traditional fax machines are also office-based, making them less efficient and secure. With online fax, your fax is instantly and safely delivered to your recipient’s inbox.

With an online fax provider like eFax, online faxing is also enhanced by features like:

Pre-formatted fax templates Free cloud-based storage
Digital signatures eFax’s MS Word compatible app
Fax preview The document converter
The Tag and Search function

Online faxing also allows you to fax to multiple people simultaneously and send files up to 3GB each.
